Here are the sermon titles with brief thoughts on each, texts and hymns we selected for use in our churches. You may well have other hymns you would use in your church, but these could get you started.

Complete Worship Services

Here are complete worship services for each Sunday with collects written for each Sermon, and readings that will supplement the main text. We have developed four basic worship forms that are rotated through the summer, each around the overall Testify to the Truth theme.

Testify to the Truth Journals

A BIG component to the summer is a Testify to the Truth journal (or devotional book) that we are creating to be given out to the congregation members and for them to give to somebody in their lives as they invite them to join them in this journey. The journal will have a truth text for each day of the summer with the following questions:

What truth does this verse express?

In what way(s) can this verse change my attitudes and my actions?

In what way(s) does this verse apply to the news of the day?

In what way(s) can we offer this Truth to our world with gentleness and respect?

The journal is illustrated by Pat Maier and the Visual Faith Ministry. Here is rough draft of the journal without all the illustrations included yet, so you can get the concept.

These go to print May 3 and should be available by May 8. They will cost $6 each if printed with our first printing.

Here are video promos for how to use the journal as a family devotion and how to give one and invite friends, neighbors, relatives and coworkers to join you. Here’s the first one:

Another thought, since we have all the themes and worship ahead of time, you could give them to whoever will be preaching on your summer vacations and ask them to preach on that text, title and readings and give them a lot of lead time so you stay with the Testify to the Truth theme even when you’re gone.
